New Show - Centric Music

Centric Music was launched by Cory in September 2006. The label is committed to releasing quality house music - no fillers. Cory has been a record collector since 1985, which led him to start spinning records as a DJ in the late 80s. He started by mixing funk, disco, rare groove and rap, before house music became part of his repertoire as a DJ in the mid 90s. He took inspiration from hearing deep house in clubs. In 2000 he visited the Winter Music Conference in Miami, and by August of that year had landed himself a residency for a 'popular dance brand'. This led him to spin in various far flung places, with highlights including a MTV party in Croatia and sets at El Divino in Ibiza and at Pacha's London club. In 2004, Cory started his own club night, which gave him full control and the opportunity to let new DJs spin. By 2005, Cory was freelancing as a DJ, and highlights of his recent career include playing for Circo Loco, Soul on the beach at the WMC in Miami and touring Japan.
Centric Music has established itself as an important label in the world of house music in a short period of time. Before the imprint, there was a Centric Music show on PUSH FM, dedicated to the sort of House music favoured by Cory. The label focuses on what Cory calls ‘chugging' house music, which means that Centric releases music of varying styles, as long as it has the requisite 'chug' and will keep dancers on the floor. In an age where it's easy to get music out there and promote it via the internet, Centric strives to release music with longevity, which will stay in the mind longer than the memory of a night out. In terms of releases, the label focuses on music from unsigned talent, drafting in remixes from some of the underground house scene's hottest producers.
Listen to Centric Music every Sunday at 23:00 (repeated 07:00) UK time on Energy FM.
